Requests

Good afternoon:

We have several prayer requests:

  • Johnny Satterfield has cancer of the lungs.  Please lift him up to the Lord who is in the business of healing.
  • Jodie Lossie—critical health issues and not expected to live, his daughter is on her way her from North Dakota.  Please pray for this family that they would know the God of all comfort.
  • Tina Buschman is requesting prayer for Camp Good News.  Please read the following for specific things we need to pray for:  Hello,

Camp Good News starts Monday morning on July 20th, and ends Friday afternoon.  I would appreciate your prayers for camp and for our family during it.

Tim and I directed Camp Good News for 27 years!  That makes us seem very old!  I could not imagine going through this summer without going to camp and being with the precious staff and loving children, so plans have continued.  God has been so good to make planning much easier for me this year, and so many precious people have come forward to help - more than I can use.  Right-click here to download pictures.   What a blessing everyone has been to our family during this time!

Randell Harms, an Avant Ministries missionary, and friend of ours, is going to direct camp for us this year.  Please pray that it will be a joyful week for him and that God would bless him with strength and wisdom in all that he does.  He will have to sleep in the crowded boys' cabin, so pray that he will get enough rest and also be able to help out the counselors in their work.

    More requests:

    1.  Please pray that our family will show the love of the Lord to the children, and that we will keep our minds set on things above.  Please pray for all of us to continue to let the Lord heal our hurts and sorrow, and that true joy will shine through us despite circumstances.  I want to be able to encourage the children that God is always faithful, even when we lose someone we love.  Most there will have known Tim and will also be grieving, so I want to be able to point them to the Lord and His continued faithfulness.

    2.  Please pray for cooler weather.  It was in the 100's last week in this area, but God has already begun to cool things down.  We praise Him for the rain the last 2 days!  Please pray that it will be warm enough to swim and have fun in the pool, but cooler than the 100's.  Right-click here to download pictures. 3.  Please pray that God will surround the camp and each child and staff person with safety, good health, and good attitudes.  Pray that our EMT/Nurse will not be very busy!

    4.  Please pray that everyone will have safety in traveling to and from camp.  Randell is coming from Wichita, Kansas, some from Wichita Falls, Texas, and from as far as Friona and Seminole.

    5.  Please pray for amazing strength and energy for every counselor.  We are expecting over 65 children this year - many more than we've had in awhile.  The counselors will be busy, but please lift them up that they might have the joy of the Lord and a great week.

    6.  Please pray for our speakers:  Monday evening Jack Rawlins will represent Voice of the Martyrs and speak about the persecuted church to the children.  Tuesday evening Randell will speak, then Craig McCloy.  Wednesday evening Karston Perry will share, then the counselors will do a skit night for the kids.  Thursday evening Matthew Miller will share, then we have a marshmallow roast and campfire testimony time.  (Evening services start at 7:30 pm)

    7.  Please pray that each child will feel safe, cared for, and loved during the week.  Please join us in prayer that no one will be bullied or experience rejection from their peers.

    8.  Please pray that any child who attends and does not know Jesus as their Savior will make a decision this week.  Also, that any child who does know Jesus, but is not walking with Him will have a change of heart and sincerely repent and surrender to the Lord.

These are just some of the requests I can think of right now.  I do hope to take a laptop to camp and send any requests out as they arise during the week.  If you don't hear from me much, it is because things will be going smoothly and there are no updates to request.

I love you all and thank you so much for all of the words of encouragement you have given me and my family at the loss of Tim.  God promises to be near the brokenhearted and I can testify that He has kept that promise.  He is a great God!!

I look forward to letting you know how camp goes in a week!

    Love,
    Tina

Let us not grow weary in doing good—have a great day.  Thanks for praying!
